Meet Emily

Counselling rooted in compassion, lived understanding, and hope.

I’m a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work in Clinical Practice and over 20 years of experience supporting children with disabilities and the families who love and care for them.

My practice is rooted in a deep commitment to supporting parents, caregivers, youth, and families navigating disability, medical complexity, grief, identity, and life’s many transitions.

As both a therapist and a parent, I understand that caregiving can be deeply meaningful - and also incredibly hard. The emotional realities of raising a child with additional needs often include advocacy, uncertainty, burnout, grief, resilience, and moments of profound love. Many parents quietly carry more than others realize.

You do not have to carry it alone.

I specialize in supporting families raising children and youth with disabilities and complex needs, helping parents navigate adjustment to diagnosis, caregiver burnout, grief, medical trauma, and the emotional impact that caregiving can have on individuals, relationships, and family life.

I also provide LGBTQIA2S+ affirming counselling and offer a welcoming, inclusive space to explore identity, relationships, sexuality, and gender.

My approach to counselling is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based. Therapy is never one-size-fits-all. Together, we will create a space that feels safe, supportive, and responsive to your unique experiences and goals.

My training includes EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, attachment-based approaches, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed practice. I draw from different approaches depending on what best supports you.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief:

Even in the hardest seasons, hope matters.

I would be honoured to walk alongside you.
